Steve Robinson
Steve produces outstanding pieces of fused glass from his studio, near St. David’s, Pembrokeshire. He is a perfectionist and is able to make glass wall hangings (up to 2.4m x 1.2m), splashbacks, bowls, platters, tiles and sculptural pieces. He particularly welcomes the opportunity to create a unique piece for a client.
"I became hooked on glass in the early 1990s and went on to complete a glass degree at the University of Wolverhampton.
For me the beauty and fascination of glass lies in the interplay with light, and the resulting illumination of the colour within. I love the ability to look into the glass and see miniature galaxies of bubbles, vibrant colour and texture - I guess I'm just a colour junkie!
I work in kiln-formed glass, fusing layers of glass with enamel colours. Much of my inspiration for the pieces I create comes from the natural world. I am originally from Scotland, and love the gorgeous marine colours and textures of the West Highland coastline. I am now based in Pembrokeshire on the Welsh coast, where the landscape and history continue to fuel my creative imagination. "
